about

the couple behind the movement

Love is a Verb is carried and led by Chris and Alesia Ware. Together they steward this Christ-centered movement with a shared passion for strengthening families, cultivating authentic community, and helping people live out love with intention and truth. Their lives and their home reflect the very heartbeat of the movement they lead.

Alesia is a creative visionary who blends biblical wisdom, real life experience, and a heart for community to create spaces where people can grow spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. She is passionate about helping individuals and marriages walk in wholeness, embrace healing, and experience God in practical and transformative ways. Alesia believes that when people love God first, they learn to love themselves well, and from that place they can love others with purpose and integrity.

Chris brings a steady, grounded, and thoughtful leadership style that complements Alesia’s vision and creativity. He is passionate about discipleship, practical faith, and modeling a love that is consistent and intentional. His wisdom, calm presence, and relational approach strengthen the heart and mission of Love is a Verb.

Their desire to serve comes from a shared calling to live out discipleship through love and to help others experience the kind of transformation that only Christ can bring. They believe that when homes are strengthened and people are healed, communities are transformed and generations are shaped. They see marriage and family as a living testimony of God’s love and view their home as their first ministry.

Chris and Alesia live in Atlanta, Georgia with their three children and their dog, Red. As a family they enjoy traveling, trying new foods, RV camping, and serving in their local church. They believe that traveling is a form of discipleship because it shapes perspective, deepens gratitude, and creates opportunities to love others well.

Alesia loves carpentry and gardening. Chris enjoys yard work, cycling, and music. Together they are committed to cultivating a home filled with faith, joy, truth, and intentional love, and they bring that same heart to every person, couple, and community they serve. They lead with humility and authenticity and desire to reflect the compassion and truth of Jesus in all they do.

how it started

love Story

Love is a Verb began as a simple act of obedience. When God stirred a vision in the heart of the couple, it started with a desire to bring people together for connection, intentional love, and community. What began as a marriage event quickly grew into a full movement centered on cultivating a space for people to love God, love themselves, and love others in practical, life changing ways.

Today Love is a Verb is a nonprofit that serves individuals, marriages, and families through experiences that nurture faith, strengthen homes, and cultivate authentic community. It is more than a phrase…it’s a movement.

heart of the movement

  • Love is a Verb stands firmly on the foundational truths of the Christian faith as taught in Scripture. We believe that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative word of God and the final guide for life, faith, and practice.

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who came to earth, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and offers salvation and eternal life to all who put their faith in Him.

We believe that salvation is a free gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not by human effort. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven, made new, and brought into relationship with God.

We believe that the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, empowering us to live out our faith, grow in spiritual maturity, walk in holiness, and reflect the character of Christ. The Spirit equips believers with spiritual gifts for the building up of the church and the service of others.

We believe that the church is the body of Christ made up of believers across the world, called to love God, love people, and make disciples. We believe in the importance of gathering together, worship, prayer, communion, baptism, and community.

We believe that God created marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman and designed family as a reflection of His love and unity. We believe that every person is made in the image of God, worthy of love, dignity, grace, and truth.

We believe in living lives of obedience to God’s word, walking in integrity, and demonstrating love in action. We believe in the power of prayer, the importance of discipleship, and the calling to live out faith in everyday life.

We believe in the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal life with God.

This statement of faith guides everything we do as a movement. It shapes our mission, our programs, our relationships, and our commitment to helping people love God, love themselves, and love others with intention, truth, and in community.

  • Love is a Verb exists to build strong families and transform communities by helping individuals and marriages live out love through intentional action grounded in faith and community. Rooted in 1 John 3:18, our mission is to guide people into a lifestyle where love is demonstrated through obedience, service, compassion, and truth. We believe that when people love God first, they learn to love themselves well, and from that place they can love others with intention and integrity.

  • Our vision is to see a world where love is demonstrated daily. We envision individuals and marriages that thrive, families that flourish, and communities that grow stronger through Christ-centered intentional love. We see generations transformed because people chose to love with purpose and reflect the heart of God in their homes, relationships, and everyday lives.

  • Faith in Action (1 John 3:18, James 2:17, Galatians 5:6)

Everything we do begins with God. We believe love starts with Him and is expressed through our obedience to His word. We model love beyond words by living in a way that reflects Christ through service, humility, compassion, and intentional choices. Faith becomes real when it becomes active.

Family First (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Psalm 127:1, Colossians 3:14)

Because God first loved us, we honor Him by allowing His love to shape how we build and nurture our families. We believe strong families are the foundation of strong communities. We support individuals and marriages as they cultivate homes grounded in love, grace, forgiveness, and intentional discipleship.

Authentic Community (Proverbs 27:17, John 13:34-35)

We create spaces where people are seen, known, and loved. Authentic community is built through transparency, accountability, and shared growth. We value relationships that reflect the heart of God and encourage people to walk together in unity, honesty, and support.

    Wholeness & Healing (James 5:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Psalm 147:3, 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

We believe love flows best from a healed and whole place. More than a phrase…it’s a movement toward spiritual, emotional, and relational wholeness. As people heal from past wounds, forgive freely, and walk in freedom, they learn to love with a deeper sense of compassion, grace, and strength.

    Legacy & Transformation (Proverbs 13:22, John 15:8, Psalm 145:4)

We equip people to build what outlives them. Legacy is formed through intentional choices that shape the next generation. Transformation happens when individuals and families walk in purpose and commit to leaving a mark of faith, character, and love that echoes through time.

  • Christ-centered
God is the source of love. Everything we do flows from His word, His presence, and His Spirit. We pursue His heart in all decisions, relationships, and acts of service.

    Integrity
We operate with honesty, accountability, and alignment between our words and our actions. We steward our mission, resources, and relationships with excellence and transparency.

    Compassion
We walk alongside individuals, couples, and families with empathy, patience, and kindness. We recognize that healing and growth take time, and we create environments that honor people’s real stories and real journeys.

    Community Minded
We cultivate spaces where people feel seen, known, and loved. We value unity, belonging, accountability, and shared growth, believing that transformation happens best in community.

    Intentionality
We believe love is an action that requires purpose and thoughtfulness. We plan, serve, lead, and build with clarity, humility, care, and devotion to what God has entrusted to us.
